Here are some highlights from Day 1:

It was announced that Windows Server 2019 goes live in October!  Windows Server 2019 is Microsoft’s latest server operating system is definitely built for today’s hybrid cloud environments. By including features such as cloud backup and disaster recovery directly into the most secure server operating system ever, Microsoft is making the divide between an on premise environment and the public cloud much less visible.

Microsoft also announced a new partnership with Adobe and SAP.  Microsoft, SAP, and Adobe launched a new Open Data Initiative. These three companies are going to create a single, portable data model that will help break down data silos that exist today and enable customers to truly own their data. This initiative is very exciting, especially for organizations looking to unlock more insights from their data estates.

Microsoft makes an entrance into the Desktop as a Service (DaaS) space in a big way with Windows Virtual Desktop, offering managed services for hosting Windows desktops in Azure. By Offering both Windows 10 and Windows 7 virtualization, extended security features for Windows 7, and making the service free for customers with select M365 plans, this is going to be very attractive for enterprises that have been on the fence about moving to a DaaS solution.

These are just some of the many exciting announcements that we heard today, including some very cool features around Azure. We will be diving deeper into some of them as the week continues!
